International Congress of Americanists (ICA)

The International Congress of Americanists (ICA) is the largest congress of its kind in the world, each time attracting several thousand researchers. It has taken place every year since 1875; since 1976 the conference venue has rotated every three years between Europe and Latin America. The congress has focused on a range of themes over the years, such as archaeology, ethnology, ethnohistory, cultural studies, industry, history, linguistics, anthropology, politics and the transformation of states, religious studies, cultural and social anthropology.
