Three gables




Sponer, Margot (1898-1945)

Margot Sponer was a German philologist. She lectured in Spanish at Friedrich Wilhelm University, Berlin (today’s Humboldt University of Berlin), where she also submitted a study on “Altgalizische Urkunden” (documents from ancient Galicia) as her doctoral thesis. She was dismissed from her post in 1942 for opposing the National Socialist regime. Sponer was sent to Neuengamme concentration camp and murdered by the SS at either Neuengamme or another camp.

  • 1 manuscript (report on a trip to Mexico in 1938 with numerous annexes, tables, newspaper clippings, program booklets and letters, including: “Kulturelle Tätigkeit in der Deutschen Kolonie”, place and year unspecified, 51 sheets and annexes)
