Batista y Zaldívar, Fulgencio (1901-1973)
Fulgencio Batista y Zaldívar was a Cuban military officer and politician. He was involved in two coups in Cuba. He served as Cuba’s elected president from 1940 to 1944; he seized power again in 1952 and ruled as dictator until 1959.
