Batres, Leopoldo (1852-1926)
Leopoldo Batres was a Mexican archaeologist. He worked for the Museo Nacional de México (today’s Museo Nacional de Antropología) in Mexico from 1884 to 1888. From 1901 to 1911 he was also in charge of various excavations (in Monte Albán, Mitla, La Quemada, Xochicalco and other locations) and archaeological explorations (in Nopilao, Teotihuacán and other locations).
