Georg Hantke worked for the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (Berlin Transport Company – BVG). In 1973 he travelled to Lima (Peru) on behalf of the company Deutsche Eisenbahn Consulting to hold talks on plans to build an underground network in Lima.
