Hoerschelmann, Werner von (1881-1919)
Werner von Hoerschelmann was a German sinologist and worked as an assistant at Berlin Royal Museum of Ethnology (today’s Ethnological Museum – Berlin State Museums) from 1907. Hoerschelmann was a student of Eduard Seler’s. From 1910 to 1911 he went on an expedition to Mexico. He fought in the First World War and was seriously injured in 1917 in France. He died two years later as a result of his injuries. His publications examine issues related to America and sinology.
