Ximénez, Francisco O.P. (aprox. 1666-1721)
Francisco Ximénez was a Spanish Dominican monk and chronicler. He travelled to Guatemala in 1687 and began his studies of the Quiché, Cakchiquel and Tzutuhil languages. Francisco Ximénez also discovered and was the first translator of the Popol Vuh narratives.
